Bio
Laurie has been shooting portraits for over 20 years, since taking a photography course in high school. Her aim was always fashion photography and celebrity portraiture, so she moved out to Los Angeles after graduating from the University of Kansas with a degree in advertising.
She started out as a model agent and then went on to run the studio of one of the country's top fashion and celebrity photographers for over a decade. Working daily with magazines like Vanity Fair, Rolling Stone and GQ, as well as numerous top celebrities and advertising clients provided an amazing experience and influence that makes Laurie's style unique.
But it was the birth of her first niece that changed everything. Laurie has had a lifelong love of kids, but strangely enough, never thought to photograph them! Once her niece Kendall (photo, right) was born, kids became the ONLY thing that inspired her photography and an adult model hasn't set foot in front of her lens since.
Thrilled to be back in Colorado since 2005, Laurie's purpose is simple: to take photographs of your children that truly capture their personalities and show the pure joy and beauty that is childhood. Each child is different and special, so each photograph is different and special. No backdrop that every child stands in front of, no random props for them to hold. This is a much more personal approach, resulting in images that show the "essence" of your child right now, and which will be treasured for years to come.
